Meet Tanya – a lifelong Floridian who came to us looking for "help and hope."
Tanya worked her whole life, including years in the mortgage industry. When she was no longer able to work, keeping up with the bills became a struggle, and she lost her home. Today she shares a home with a relative, pays rent from a fixed income, and buys her own groceries. "To be honest, prices are outrageous, and it's hard living day to day, month to month," she says.
After a conversation with a friend about food pantries, Tanya searched online and found Feeding Tampa Bay. When she arrived for her first visit, she was hoping for "any kind of help." Asked what finding us meant to her, she said: "Hopeful there is a tomorrow. There are good people out here that will help people like me."
No one should have to choose between keeping a roof overhead and putting food on the table. With the support of our donors and volunteers, Feeding Tampa Bay provides groceries and nutritious food to neighbors from all walks of life.
